Abstract

Speakers: Martina Benzoni Baláž Lucia Hlavatá This seminar introduces a teaching innovation that positions students as active partners in shaping assessment within a Public Policy course. Instead of receiving predefined requirements, students collaboratively design the criteria that guide their own work, fostering greater ownership, clarity, and engagement. The session will walk participants through how co-creating rubrics, integrating stakeholder perspectives, and using peer feedback activities can create more transparent, inclusive, and motivating learning environments. The approach demonstrates how small shifts in assessment design can strengthen students’ confidence, improve the quality of their outputs, and cultivate a more democratic classroom culture.
