EJPR presents: How to develop an open research agenda (while being mindful of the traps along the way)

Abstract

Starting a career in academia means confronting a lot of unknowns: how to get published, how to navigate open science requirements, and how to build a research career when the field constantly changes. This session offers a relaxed, informal space for early career researchers to ask the questions they might hesitate to raise elsewhere. Rather than a traditional panel, this will be an open conversation. After brief opening reflections from Alessandro Nai, Robert Huber and Caterina Froio, three editors of the European Journal of Political Research (EJPR), the floor is yours: bring your questions about what editors actually look for, how to handle rejection and revision, what 'open science' means in practice, and how to make research decisions when the path forward isn't clear. No question is too basic, no topic off-limits.
