This taster session introduces the fundamentals of regression analysis using R, one of the most widely used tools for quantitative research. We will explore how regression models can be used to answer research questions, starting with the basic logic of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and moving to multiple regression and model diagnostics. Using practical examples, the session will demonstrate how to estimate, interpret, and assess regression models, with a focus on applications in political science. The session will provide a taste of the course’s hands-on approach and an opportunity to discuss common challenges in using regression analysis in research. The 30-minute session will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A.
