The modern international system is undergoing major changes led to an emergence of new theoretical and practical approaches in the field of foreign policy analysis, with a special attention paid to consequences of changes in world politics regarding to a novel redistribution of power among different actors. In order to pursue a higher position and get an acknowledgement, China and other rising powers are starting to implement strategies different from traditional understanding of how actors should exhibit and assess behavior in the international arena. This panel aimed to cover different aspects of the policy process in order to explain why emerging powers behave in the way they do and provide room for discussions on strategies of particular countries.
