Abstract

*PANEL CO-SPONSORED WITH GENDER & DIVERSITY IN CONTEMPORARY POLITICS SECTION* Canadian as well as European scholars in the gender and politics field have addressed questions of representation as they concern participation in party organizations, access to elective office across multiple levels of government and the dynamics of voter choice. How best can research move forward in this area? What methodologies and empirical foci appear most promising? This panel will probe each question through the lens of contemporary Canadian and European scholarship in the field.
