Abstract

This is the first of two panels that examine different and new perspectives on military change in European armed forces and alliances. The panels aim to further our theoretical and empirical knowledge on whether, how and why military organisations adjust to challenges in their operational and strategic environments. This is the second of two panels that introduce new perspectives on military change in European armed forces and in NATO. The second panel takes a case-specific angle, exploring military change in different national contexts. The panel papers aim to understand how military organizational cultures in Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Turkey have changed and adapted to their operational and political environment, but also served to influence and shaped that environment.
