Abstract

International and global governance regimes are facing a legitimacy crisis. The criteria for their normative evaluation are up for grabs, although it seems clear that effectivity and effectiveness no longer suffice, while full-fledged democratisation will not be forthcoming. This panel presents innovative suggestions from citizenship theory, epistemology, political philosophy and international law.
