Abstract

This panel will discuss the functioning of political parties at the level of the European Union, and the way in which the European (party) level influences national party competition. There will be three types of papers. The first look at the way in which political parties function at the European level. The second look at the relation between the Europarties and the parties at the national level. And the third discusses the partisan mobilization against the European Union at the domestic level.
