Abstract

While populism research is booming as of recent, it remains somewhat skewed towards the supply-side. While we know much about populist parties, populist rhetoric and its relationship with democracy, there is much less research about demand-side populism. Yet, most recently, the extant literature provides us with several novel insights into the measurement, operationalisation and origins of populism amongst individuals. This panel builds on these insights and includes a number of papers that each contribute to this particular scholarship.
