Abstract

What is federative power, and how does it become manifest and play out in different constellations of federalism, domestic and international? The panel will consider, from historical and contemporary perspectives, competing interpretations of the concept of federative power - including its implications for federal entry and exit, the relationship between constituent and constituted power, and the connection to international treaties.
