Abstract

The panel will explore how electoral institutions (including but not limited to electoral rules) affect the way political competition takes place. The focus will be on the effects of institutions on party structure and organization via the incentives that generate in competing for votes. Of particular interest are papers that explore the effects of electoral institutions on intra-party structure and organization.
