Abstract

The relationship between the executive and the legislature is key to both shaping and implementing public policy. In the setting of coalition governments, differing party goals among governing parties leads to a significantly heightened risk of agency loss whenever the legislature delegates to the executive. This panel explores this contentious relationship between coalition partners and parliaments from a comparative perspective, in particular welcoming papers exploring this in settings outside of the EU and the US.
