Abstract

This panel features five papers that investigate how political communication and campaign strategies may undermine faith in the political process and lead to perverse outcomes. The papers consider a wide range of contexts where the use of social media and strategies aimed at mobilisation voters can disrupt the integrity of elections, influence electoral outcomes and undermine faith in democratic process.
