Abstract

This panel addresses a crucial aspect of truth-making in politics: the expert knowledge. Enjoying in modern democracies a certain cultural and social ascendancy, the expert knowledge links the issue of truth to practices that make experts legitimate in concrete policy arenas. At the same time, the analysis of justification procedures through that such legitimacy is achieved or called upon is of interest if we want to understand the dynamic of truth in post-factual times.
