Abstract

The papers in this panel examine Kant’s account of political change and evaluate its legacy, both in the work of some anti-Kantians (Garve, Burke or some representatives of British Idealism) and in the work of some ‘neo-Kantians’ (both Neo-Kantians and contemporary Kantian philosophers, such as Rawls). The aim of the panel is to reconstruct a Kantian position which can deal with some of the global challenges which we face today by taking into consideration some of the significant responses to Kant’s philosophy from the history of political thought.
