This panel focuses on the supply side of the radical politics by exploring the varieties of populist and radical grass roots mobilization. It focuses on the grievances behind the mobilization, the groups with whom the populist and radical message appeals and types of democratic renewal supported by the its followers. Papers cover a wide range of examples of grass roots mobilization with focus on environmentalism in Hungary, Brexit and its links to grass roots, youth mobilization in Poland and revisit the relationship between direct democracy and democratic responsiveness.
