On the basis of membership and voter surveys in the period from 1991 to 2009 the paper looks at the changing composition and party activities of Norwegian party members. The question is whether we can find a "membership decline" in the sense that party members are turning less party specific (SES and political preferences) and are less active in political and party work thus blurring the distinction towards the party voter and the party sympathisers (party ID).
