Regarding the countries beyond Europe the concept of Europeanization is remarkably underdeveloped although there are countries that have relatively close ties with EU and may be influenced by EU policies. Of these, Israel can be seen as most specific case due to its close cultural and historical relations to Europe but also to its difficult geopolitical position and distinct political culture. This paper will try to prove that in the area of politics the Europeanization can be traced in Israeli domestic political discourse and it plays increasingly relevant role. Consequently, the paper intends to identify the influence of EU political views (in their diversity) on the arguments presented in Israeli political debates related to several carefully selected cases, and on the interpretations of the political impact of Israeli actions upon EU-Israeli relations. Finally, arguments will be presented whether Israel can act as an actor promoting European values in the region.
