Abstract

The main argument of this paper stands on two key positions: 1) that political discourses employ a fundamentally relevant role for democratic world, and as such 2) importantly influence on the communication between various actors in democratic arenas. Many types of political debates can be recognized in each democratic society, as well as a variety of actors that have been involved in them. We aim to review the characteristics and conceptions of democratic representations of the following types: a) parliamentary debates; b) political documents; c) public opinion polls; d) media reports, as they are being provided by various participants: i) voters; ii) political actors; iii) media. Based on the findings we expect to provide reflections on a) the strengths and weaknesses of various political discourses from the point of view of various political actors; b) their potential democratic impacts; c) the role of political sciences in political discourse studies.
