Abstract

This paper focuses on the role of Applied Theatre experiences in War-Torn Communities, exploring the challenges and the issues in relation to using theatre-based approach within a Peace Building process and a Conflict Transformation framework. The paper suggests an innovative methodological framework of action which includes the model of the “Complex Circle of Solidarity” conceived by Guglielmo Schininà (IOM) and the contribution hold by Hannah Reich. Then, the article introduces and discusses the results of the analysis of the projects realized by Peace Dialogue NGO in Armenia and by Search For Common Ground NGO in Rwanda. Some further hypotheses of planning are presented. The challenge gathered by this paper is to understand the possible activation of a learning/teaching process of competences’ transfer, respecting the local contexts and, at the same time, realizing concretely an interdisciplinary and boundary space between facilitation, peacebuilding, conflict management and theatre.
