The paper will contribute to the better understanding of how the centrifugal force towards the weakening of the European integration has developed, what are the key (i) general and (ii) EU-specific vectors of such gradient. The paper will also address whether secular stagnation adds to that centrifugal force and on why a more transformative and catalytic policy mix is needed.
