Abstract

Jurisdictional relations with foreign states in the criminal process are a good possibility of interaction among countries fighting the organized crime. These are of great interest to be studied in-depth, taking into consideration the free movement of citizens in Europe; the integration of many countries in EU, which brings about the breaking of barriers and boarders in between states; and the fulfillment of the objective for an effective fight against crime. Of great interest is also researching and investigating the European security concept with particular focus on the process of interlinking EU security with non-member EU countries. In Albania after the abolition of the communist regime in 1991, the democratic orientation of the state, were followed by general reforms, including the reformation of legislation. This reformation brought about a new era in the juridical relations with foreign states in the criminal process of Albania. Being a new democratic country, which aims to be part of EU, Albania has made great efforts to improve and complete the legal basis in the area of International relations with foreign countries in the criminal process, based on the models of more developed democracies. This paper tends to analyze, the Albanian legal basis of the juridical relations with foreign states in the criminal process, based on a detailed observation, using scientific descriptive and comparative research methods, linking the investigation, implication and impact of internal and external fight against organized crime in EU and non-EU countries, ensuring security in the whole region.
