Abstract

The appeasement of Hitler and the Munich Agreement is arhetorical analogy used commonly in international relations. We examine and present cases, in which this paradigm has been used in political speech. These four cases demonstrate the use of the concept from Suez to an ongoing War on Terror. Our hypothesis is that Munich has beenvery instrumental politically, and a key element in the final push to use force on numerous occasions.
