Abstract

In the last 25 years populists in Poland have kept benefiting from the in-conclusive economic reforms and effects of global crises as well as from weaknesses of the country political elites (Shields 2012: 361) Although some elements of the populist rhetoric can be found in many Polish parties (Przyłęcki 2012), the crucial representatives were the Self-Defense party (in the early 21 c.) and, recently the New Right Congress and Kukiz'15. The aim of the paper is to compare and contrast the populist core elements present in the parties' programmes (data derived from the EUVOX/Barometr Wyborczy – Polish VAA) with a special emphasis of the topics that were diffused by their European counterparts and that illustrate shallow Europeanisation process.
