The Czech Republic passed a new law on political parties funding in 2016 significantly tightening the rules. Although the new rules made a significant shift and created important chellenges for political parties in reporting and external oversight, still there are many loopholes political parties and candidates can use. The article summarizes the main drawbacks and issues that political parties can use for masking donors, channeling money and/or promote non-transparent transanctions and activities in order to avoid to publish information during their campaigns.
