Striving for Impact in Relation to Preventing Violent Extremism Policy in Schools: Combining Research, Professional Practice and Lobbying

In this presentation, I will reflect on my attempts to influence policy around Preventing Violent Extremism in schools in England, drawing on my experience as (i) a practitioner attempting to influence the interpretation and implementation of policy, (ii) a researcher collecting and collating empirical evidence about the impact of the policy, and (iii) a campaigner attempting to influence policy-makers.
