Collective identity is a relevant factor that needs to be taken into consideration in times of social transformation, like the one we are experiencing nowadays. This comes from the idea that collective identity is the source of social integration. This work focuses on the study of Andalusian identity: the knowledge of its dimensions, its relevance, explanatory factors and its complementation with other collective identities that are socially interesting. Furthermore, it is also necessary for its promotion. Spain is a complicated case with her heterogeneity in identity. The case we are interested in, the Andalusian identity, is one of the less studied. For underlining its importance, it is the autonomous community with the highest population and having the historical nationality status. It is therefore an original study with two different parts. The first one intends to define the explanatory factors of andalusian identity of citizens, using the data set 2829 of the Center of Investigation of Sociology. With a quantitative methodology, it will analyze Andalusian identity considering different factors like social class, age, ideology, studies, religiosity, etc. Secondly, it wants to examine how complementary is the Andalusian identity with the other collective identities. In this part, mentioned relevance of identity of the Andalusian citizens and their relationship with the Spanish identity can be found.
