Abstract

Today, the economy of a nation is constantly confronted with the competition on the local, national and international levels. Companies therefore use a variety of strategies and tools to become and/or remain competitive. The status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) was originally adopted in the framework of the Customs-to-Business Partnership introduced by the World Customs Organization (WCO) as a part of the Strategy for Customs for the twenty-first century. It has been first developed within the EU. This paper is to analyze the impact of Union Customs Code (UCC) implementation on the national economies of the Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) as the case studies in order to discuss and recognize those implementations and compliances, furthermore, reviews the core UCC and AEO concept and its related previous research papers. As the concept of the UCC, this implementation may reduce an overall number of customs procedures and has simplified the customs clearance as a trade facilitation. To achieve the goals of this study, case-based methodology was used.
