The Politics of Double-Standard? Revisiting the EU’s Engagement with Authoritarian Regimes

Abstract

This paper employs a constructivist framework (Checkel 2008, Wong 2012) to argue that the evolving identities in the EU as well as in China, give a better account of the ups and downs in the EU''s relations with China.
