Abstract

Dr Hannah Bunting is Lecturer in Quantitative British Politics at the University of Exeter and Co-director of The Elections Centre. Her expertise spans electoral politics, party competition, voting behaviour, and political trust. She has a particular interest in measurement and has published on how gender shapes the interpretations of survey questions, finding that men and women have differing understandings, which then impacts their responses. She is currently working on a systematic review of gendered voter bias towards candidates (with Dr Jessica C Smith); how gender and emotions impact the traits citizens look for in leaders and women’s representation in UK local government.
