Temporalising "Integration": a rhetorical reading of citizenship tests debates

The aim of this paper is to approach the concept, or rather, the notion of integration from a temporal point of view. This means that, instead of trying to find definitions of integration, I will be looking at the temporal levels present in the debates revolving around integration. The purpose of this analysis is to open up potential dimensions for discussing integration, its means and aims. The context, in which the reading will be situated, is the debates about citizenship test. The point is to use parliamentary debates as the primary material, with references made to the academic discourses around the testing practice.
