Abstract

This paper is aiming to contribute to the modern protection of biodiversity in particular social aspects and governance for suggesting implementation of the governance on natural resources to the management authorities in Eastern Europe and in Japan. The number of studies devoted to socio-ecological resilience and adaptive governance with a general focus and a regional focus, however the application of sustainable tourism to those theories has received limited attention. To implement policy and strategy to improve sustainability on biodiversity use, evaluation and suggesting mechanisms for managing the potential conflicts between biodiversity and tourism will be done and appropriate consideration to both environmental and economic aspects will be given. The study will be based on a combination of secondary and primary data. Firstly, the theoretical foundations of human nature relationships and socio- ecological resilience, adaptive governance on protected areas and tourism and will be presented. The sources will be theoretical literature regarding through natural and social sciences in socio-ecological management policy and process, especially on resilience theory. Later, interview works from Slovakia and Japan with multi-level actors who are related to conservation management issues shall be presented as a primary sources of this research.
