Gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, and religion intersect in complex ways with the politics of democracy, radicalism, and extremism. This section invites contributions examining how identity categories are constructed, mobilised, and contested within populist, radical, and extremist movements, as well as how they shape experiences of political exclusion and democratic participation. Work engaging with feminist and critical race perspectives, intersectional frameworks, and the gendered dimensions of authoritarian politics is particularly encouraged.
