Abstract

This Section includes Panels that explore questions in the realm of peace and conflict research. As a fundamentally interdisciplinary field, peace and conflict studies draw on different disciplines such as political science, sociology and international relations. They use methodologies ranging from large-n quantitative studies to ethnographic approaches. The Section reflects this disciplinary and methodological variety. Accordingly, the Chairs include Panels that are concerned with different aspects within the field focusing on the conditions for stable peace to emerge, the actors engaged in peace and conflict as well as the effects of quality standards in a field that finds itself at the intersection between critical research and practical relevance.
