Aston University is a ‘dual intensive’ University, which values excellence in education and research equally. Politics and International Relations research at the Department of Society and Politics focuses on European and Asian politics and international relations. Concretely, we have expertise in the following areas: migration and refugees, foreign aid and development, federalism and decentralisation, critical security studies, gender, political populism, political parties, interest groups, religion and politics, social democracy, international organisations, international law, and foreign policy. The Department hosts the Aston Centre for Europe and the Centre for Migration and Forced Displacement.
