Political science at Malmö University is part of the interdisciplinary Department of Global Political Studies (GPS). The GPS consists of eight subject groups: Political Science, Peace- and Conflict Research, Human Rights, European Studies, International Relations, Gender Studies, International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) and Caucasus Studies. Within the GPS, Caucasus Studies runs a research platform for Russia and the Caucasus Regional Research (RUCARR). The department runs two PhD programs, one in Global Politics and one in IMER. The Ph.D. education in Global Politics focuses on transnational and international forms of politics. The GP PhD education is inter-disciplinary, caters to the entire department and incorporates approaches from both the social sciences and the humanities.
