The ECPR Council is made up of one Official Representative from each ECPR Member institution. It meets annually to discuss new plans with the Executive Committee and to hold it to account for its actions. Kristina replaces outgoing Speaker Thomas Poguntke of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf from 2018 – 2024.
We'd like to extend our thanks to Thomas for his dedication and contributions during his term.
Serving as Speaker of the Council can have two modes. In quiet times, it involves liaising with the Executive Committee and chairing the meetings of the Council. In troubled times, it can be quite challenging to help keeping things on course. Both modes are important; yet, I wish my successor Krisztina Arató mainly quiet times and all the best for her tenure!
