Jonathan Slapin completes his term as co-editor of OUP Comparative Politics book series

Our Comparative Politics series, published in conjunction with Oxford University Press, bids farewell to Jonathan Slapin, who has completed his editorial term.

Jonathon SlapinJonathan Slapin was appointed in 2019 and expressed his desire to 'identify new authors producing excellent social science, to work with them to craft their projects into books that will have broad reach and deep impact on the field of comparative politics.'

Overseeing the publication of 24 titles during his term, covering areas such as: parties, elections, and voter behavior, coalition governance, legislatures, and institutions and democracy, regimes, and judicial politics – it is safe to say he has achieved his goal.

Jonathan Slapin has served his term as editor of the ECPR Comparative Politics series with exemplary skill and acuity. From the start, he has shown a keen sense of the important role the series plays in relation to the broader world of political science, as well as an enviable degree of efficiency, characteristic good humour, positivity, and a genuine openness to engaging with work outside his extensive research interests. He has been in every respect an exemplary editor and he will be much missed.”

Dominic Byatt, publisher of this series at OUP

ECPR extends its gratitude to Jonathan for his enthusiasm and commitment over the past six years. He is succeeded by new recruit  Alexander Baturo, who joins continuing co-editor Nicole Bolleyer to lead the Comparative Politics Series to it's next chapter..
