Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Information
ECPR is now fully accredited by the CPD Certification Service as a CPD Provider. Offering CPD-certified events reinforces our commitment to recognising and supporting professional development across the ECPR community.
CPD explained
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to the learning activities professionals undertake to develop and enhance their skills throughout their careers.
CPD is widely embedded across a wide range of industries and professions. In regulated fields, professional bodies and associations typically set and oversee mandatory CPD requirements across roles and functions. This is well established in many traditional sectors such as healthcare, law, financial services, construction, engineering, veterinary science, and accountancy. CPD is also increasingly recognised across other disciplines, including education, IT, communications, marketing, human resources and business.
Certified events
ECPR's General Conference 2026 is a fully CPD-certified event. If you take on an active role in the event – such as Paper Presenter, Panel Chair, Discussant, or Section Chair – your work is professionally recognised, and you will be eligible to receive CPD hours on completion of the event.
CPD hours are calculated based on the time spent in 'active learning'. This includes Panels, roundtables and keynote sessions. Refreshment breaks, receptions, and social dinners do not count towards CPD hours. From 2027, a range of ECPR events will become CPD-certified.

How to get your CPD certificate
You will receive an email from the CPD Certification Service within 35 days of attending the event. The email will include a unique link to a MyCPD portal, where you can access and download your certificate.
All your CPD hours can be recorded in the portal, allowing you to track and combine learning across multiple CPD providers.
