I am a student of political science, curious about the influence of individuals' social environment and relations on civic and political behavior. I have articles on institutional trust, social trust, civil society, and social capital. My recent research focuses on citizenship and political participation. I am interested in cross-country comparisons as well as single case studies. The comparison between the institutionalized democracies and the developing democracies constitutes one interesting area of research for me. The case of Turkey in a comparative perspective is another interesting area of research.
