About

Dr. Cornelia Baciu is DAAD-Postdoctoral Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, doing research on transatlantic relations, comparative security policy and strategy, risk management, IOs and foreign policy. She obtained her PhD in civil-military relations from Dublin City University and was a visiting researcher at the University of Southern Denmark. Dr. Baciu is founding Director of the international Research Network on European Security and Strategy and Coordinator of the Working Group on European Security and Defence Transformation at the Association pour les Études sur la guerre et la stratégie (AEGES), Paris. Her co-edited book, "Peace, Security and Defence Cooperation in Post-Brexit Europe. Risks and Opportunities", was published by Springer International. Her monograph on civil-military relations will be published soon.   Dr. Baciu was awarded with the BISA, LSRS and VEUK prizes for her excellent research and teaching. She delivered lectures on Research Methods, International Relations Theories and Brexit and European Security at Dublin City University, Maynooth University and Georgetown University. Her work was published in international academic journals and open-source publications. She did extensive field research in Europe, the United States and Pakistan. Cornelia worked as security risk analyst and crisis response expert in Germany and as a research assistant at the Terrorism Prevention Branch, United Nations in Vienna, Austria. Cornelia obtained her MA from the University of Konstanz and completed her BA at the University of Konstanz and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi.
