About

Daniel Casey is a PhD candidate at the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University. His research focuses on responsiveness of political elites to public opinion and how the political and public agenda are set. He is studying this by examining the letters of members of the public to Prime Minister Howard. Prior to academia, Daniel had an extensive career in the Australian Public Service, working across central and social policy agencies. He has also worked for Members of Parliament and peak NGOs, where he was responsible for developing policy submissions to government.
