About

Egle Butkeviciene (F) is a full professor and Vice-Dean for Research at Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology. She has PhD in Social sciences, Sociology. Dr Egle Butkeviciene gives lectures and conducts research on citizen science, social impact of technologies, social innovations, social entrepreneurship, citizen participation, social media, and public policy. She has been involved in European research projects since 2008. Currently she is a leader of KTU team in H2020 project “Democratic Efficacy and the Varieties of Populism in Europe” (DEMOS), a leader of national project “Citizen Science as an Innovative Form of Citizen Participation for Welfare Society Development” (CS4Welfare)”, and a national representative at MCs in two COST Actions: “Empowering the next generation of social enterprise scholars” and “Citizen Science to promote creativity, scientific literacy, and innovation throughout Europe”. Dr Egle Butkeviciene is/was a governmental expert at the EC H2020 Programme Committee for Societal Challenge 6 'Europe in a changing world – Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Societies', a member of Horizon 2020 Advisory Group on NMBP (Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies), an expert evaluator of H2020, 7th FP projects, Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education, Research Council of Lithuania, etc. She was an external expert of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), evaluating entrepreneurship and innovation in study programmes. She is responsible for co-editing a book series "Democratic Dilemmas and Policy Responsiveness", published by Lexington Books.
