About

Florence Metz is an assistant professor at the Department of Governance & Technology for Sustainability (CSTM) of the University of Twente in the Netherlands. She holds a PhD in public policy from the University of Bern in Switzerland. As a post-doctoral researcher, she worked at the Natural Resource Policy Group of ETH Zürich and at the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Bern. Her research is embedded within the broader theoretical questions of public policy research. With the aim of contributing to more sustainable policy results, she analyses the design of policies and the social mechanisms behind decision-making. More specifically, her research revolves around consensus-finding among political actors in sustainability transitions. She works on the policy domains of water, energy, land-use and agriculture and has conducted research in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK, Madagascar, Laos and Myanmar.
