Gil Pradeau is a PhD candidate at the University of Westminster. His research focuses on the difficult institutionalisation of participatory budgeting at the state-level in Brazil whereas this democratic innovation has been a successful case of diffusion in hundreds of municipalities. His research interests includes also social network analysis and qualitative comparative analysis. He has taught at the University of Westminster and at Sorbonne University. He directed and edited "Learning to count", a documentary movie showing how participatory budgeting was used in three schools in Portugal, France and the United Kingdom (2015). His last publication is "A third wave of Participatory Budgeting in France" in Nelson Dias (ed.), Hope for Democracy. 30 years of Participatory Budgeting Worldwide. Epopeia Records, 2018.
