Gustaaf Geeraerts is Professor Emeritus, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). From 2015 to 2021 he was a Distinguished Professor in the School of International Relations and Public Affairs and Co-director of the Center for China-EU Relations, Fudan University. He is also the founding director of the late Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS). His current research interests include structural realism, balance of power theory and EU-China relations.
