Jana Gheuens is a PhD researcher at the Institute for European Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she focuses on democratic myopia in EU climate and energy governance. Previously, Jana has conducted research at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment, and Health on disaster risk reduction and water-security in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Combining these backgrounds, she is mainly interested in climate change mitigation, EU climate and energy policy, and SIDS.
