About

I am a Lecturer at Te Kura Toi Tangata - School of Education at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. My research focuses on young people's citizenship activities and their experience of citizenship education in a changing democracy. I am particularly interested in how young people in rural communities can make their voices heard. I am also interested in transitions into higher education, co-production and mixed methods. I have previously worked as a secondary school teacher for citizenship education, geography and ESOL in Germany and New Zealand. I am interested in connecting with scholars in my areas of interest.
