Trained as a political scientist with additional education in science & technology studies (STS), my research interests revolve around environmental governance, climate politics, and development. I am particularly interested in questions of power, institutions, and knowledge production related to societal transformations. As a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Darmstadt, I am primarily working on the institutionalization of climate change mitigation efforts in the Global South. I received my Ph.D. from Freie Universität Berlin in 2015 and subsequently researched and taught at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Harvard University, and Stockholm University. I am one of the spokespersons of the working group “Environmental Policy and Global Change” of the German Political Science Association. Book publications include "How Power Shapes Energy Transitions in Southeast Asia" (London: Routledge, 2017) and "Governing Climate Change in Southeast Asia" (London: Routledge, 2021, ed. with L. Delina, M. Smits).
