About

Johanne Døhlie Saltnes gained her PhD at the University of Oslo. She is currently Collaborating Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Brasilia, Brazil. Johanne is, together with Martin Bull, the founding editor of ECPR's political science blog 'The Loop'. Her research interests include the EU's development policy, EU foreign policy, Sanctions, Brazilian foreign policy, EU-Brazil relations, EU Deforestation regulation, rights-based approaches to development and theories of global justice. Her book The European Union and Global Development: A Rights-Based Approach? was published in 2021 as part of the Routledge European Union and Global Order (EUGO) series. Her research has been published in the Journal of Common Market Studies, Cooperation and Conflict, Politics and Governance, Third World Quarterly, Global Affairs and Journal of European Integration.
